Types of HVAC Systems
-Split systems: This type of HVAC system consists of two units, an indoor unit, and an outdoor unit. The indoor unit, which is usually installed in the ceiling or on the wall, is responsible for distributing the conditioned air throughout the space. The outdoor unit, on the other hand, is responsible for the cooling and heating process.
-Packaged systems: In this type of HVAC system, all the components are housed in a single unit that is installed outside the building. The unit is connected to the indoor space through ductwork, which distributes the conditioned air.
-Ductless mini-split systems: This is a type of HVAC system that does not require ductwork for the distribution of conditioned air. Instead, it uses individual air handling units that are installed in each room or zone. The air-handling units are connected to an outdoor unit through small, flexible refrigerant lines.
-Geothermal systems: This type of HVAC system uses the earth’s natural temperature to provide heating and cooling. It consists of an underground loop system that absorbs the earth’s heat in the winter and rejects it in the summer.
-Solar-powered systems: This type of HVAC system uses solar panels to generate electricity for powering the system. The solar panels collect energy from the sun and convert it into electricity, which is then used to run the air conditioning unit.
-Hybrid systems: This type of HVAC system combines two or more different types of systems to provide heating and cooling. For example, a hybrid system may combine a geothermal system with a traditional split system or a ductless mini-split system with a packaged system.
